PokeRip Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 25, 2026 · Last updated: April 25, 2026

PokeRip is an unofficial fan-made app. PokeRip is not produced, endorsed, supported by, or affiliated with Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, GAMEFREAK Inc., Creatures Inc., or any of their subsidiaries or partners. "Pokémon", the names of individual Pokémon, card names, set names, and all related logos, trademarks, and copyrights are the property of their respective owners. PokeRip uses publicly available card metadata and imagery via the community-maintained pokemontcg.io API solely for the purpose of letting fans simulate opening packs they already own digital or physical access to. No real-world value is exchanged, and no real cards change hands.

Who we are

PokeRip is published by Sycamore Hill Studios (an independent solo developer). You can reach us at sycamorehillstudios@outlook.com.

Summary (the short version)

Information stored on your device

The following are stored locally in app storage and never transmitted off your device:

Uninstalling PokeRip removes all of this data. We do not back this data up to any cloud service we operate.

Information we do NOT collect

PokeRip does not include any third-party advertising, marketing analytics, or behavioral tracking SDKs.

Third-party services we rely on

pokemontcg.io (community card API)

When you open the app and view a set or open a pack, PokeRip may make HTTP requests to api.pokemontcg.io and to image URLs hosted by The Pokémon TCG API (typically images.pokemontcg.io) to retrieve card metadata and card art. These requests carry only your device's outgoing IP address and standard HTTP headers required for the request to succeed; they do not include any account or personal identifier from PokeRip. Their handling of those requests is governed by the pokemontcg.io operators and the operators of any image-hosting CDN they use.

Google Play Billing (optional in-app purchases)

PokeRip offers three optional one-time in-app purchases ("Supporter", "Super Supporter", "Legendary Supporter") that unlock faster pack cooldowns or unlimited rips. Payment is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. PokeRip does not see, store, or transmit your payment method, billing address, or Google account email. We only receive a per-device purchase token from Google to verify entitlement. Refer to Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles billing data.

Google Play Store (app distribution)

If you installed PokeRip from Google Play, the Play Store and Google Play Services may collect installation, crash, and usage statistics independent of PokeRip itself. PokeRip does not initiate or control this collection. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.

Permissions we request, and why

PokeRip does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, or storage permissions.

Children's privacy

PokeRip is appropriate for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or under the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because PokeRip does not collect personal information from anyone, this is true regardless of the user's age.

Your rights

Because all PokeRip data is stored only on your own device, you can exercise the rights described in laws such as GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California) yourself at any time:

If you have questions about your rights, email sycamorehillstudios@outlook.com.

Data retention

PokeRip retains your local data for as long as the app remains installed on your device. Uninstalling the app removes everything. We do not retain any data on servers we operate, because we do not operate any user-data servers.

Security

Local data is stored in standard Android app-private storage, which Android isolates from other apps. Network requests use HTTPS where supported by the upstream services. PokeRip does not store passwords, payment tokens, or any sensitive credentials.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how PokeRip handles data, we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes, we will also surface the change inside the app on next launch.
