SafePlate ("the app"), published by Sycamore Hill Studios, is a local-only app for tracking children's meals and mealtime progress. Your privacy — and your family's — comes first. This policy explains exactly how the app handles data.
SafePlate does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Everything you enter — children's names and details, logged meals, safe foods, notes, ratings, and any photos you attach — is stored only on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else, because the app has no servers and requests no internet access permission.
The app requires no sign-up or account. It contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking or profiling of any kind.
If you add a photo to a meal, it is copied into the app's private storage on your device and used only to show that meal inside SafePlate. Photos are never uploaded.
SafePlate is free and every feature is unlocked. It includes an optional "tip jar" to support development. Tips are processed entirely by Google Play's billing system; the app never sees or stores your payment details. Google's handling of that transaction is covered by Google's Privacy Policy. The only time SafePlate touches the network is Google Play billing, and only if you choose to leave a tip.
You can export a backup file of your data from within the app. That file is written to the location you choose and is fully under your control — SafePlate never sends it anywhere. Keep exported backups somewhere private, as they contain your logged data.
SafePlate is a tool for parents and caregivers. Any information about a child that you choose to enter stays on your device and is never collected or transmitted by us.
You can delete individual children or meals in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all of its data from your device.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
